Whoever created the term Thank God It's Friday must have been a genius! Just think - everywhere around the world, everyone who is finishing work is thinking exactly the same thing at the exact same time!
Whether it's focusing on what you are going to do on the weekend to relax and try to get away from the constant drumbeat of "pings" and ringer tones, from the phone calls and spam, from the mindless news that is really infotainment, the weekend remains an oasis in an otherwise hectic and stressful work week.
Deciding what to eat, where to dine, what activities to do on the weekend are fun things to think about!
Let's see - gym or swim; yoga or weights; photography or travel; pool or ocean; walk on the boardwalk or in town at a museum....All of those options are great, so you really can't go wrong.
I also manage to squeeze in a lot of reading during the weekends. I read all of the newspapers, catch up on The New Yorker, and then zoom into whatever book I'm reading during the week (usually for about a 1/2 hour before I go to sleep.)
The weekend represents God's gift to the masses. A time to recharge yourself, sleep late, try not to worry, eat healthy and have that extra glass of delicious wine!
So to all my fellow workaholics, have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!!!!
